Vampire at Daycare

No, this isn't a post ala the Enquirer. Just a post about a confused vampire baby at Charlotte's daycare. See, this baby thought he was supposed to bite her on her leg.

bite mark 004

I did not notice the mark until I was nursing her. At first, I wasn't sure what it was, but it slowly dawned on me. I called her daycare and they didn't know anything about a baby vampire, so I decided to take Charlotte back to show them her bite mark. They agreed, but still didn't know what happened.

Two of the workers who watched Charlotte today were still there and they said no one was drawing blood on their watch. The 3rd worker had already left for a vacation so we won't know anything else until next week when she gets back.

I'm not mad per se. Just really upset that no one told me that my daughter got bit. We filled out an accident report and I guess I'll have to wait until Monday afternoon to know more.

This is another reason why I can't wait to be a stay-at-home mom. I know I won't be able to protect my daughter from all of the ills in the world, but I should be able to protect her from getting bit by a 10-month old. Right?

  1. That behavior must be stopped! The 10 mnth old brat who bit my granddaughter needs to be drop kicked.
    I'm not kidding.

  2. Okay, something is not right here! You pay them each week to take care of your daughter and they "don't know what happened". No way......a bite like that will make any baby cry! The baby who bit her left their teeth marks behind, so there is no way your baby girl didn't let out a screaming cry?!? Biting is unacceptable behavior!

It's definitely one more reason to be a stay-at-home mom and I can't wait until your day comes! Times like this make it seem far away but hang in there!

Also, you are right, you will not be able to protect her from all the ills of the world but that includes getting bit. I say this because when Alyssa was born Amber was 6 yrs old and there was some jealousy in the house. No matter how much attention Amber got and how much we included her in everything we did with Alyssa she got jealous at times, after all, she was the only child for a few yrs.

One Sunday after church we came home and I was in the bathroom while Jason was in sitting on the bed playing with Amber and Alyssa when the next thing I hear is a cry from Alyssa I had never heard before, including Jason speaking very stern to Amber. Well, I ran out as soon as I heard the cry thinking "What in the world just happened". It turned out that Amber didn't like the attention daddy was giving Alyssa and bit her in the HEAD. In fact, she bit her so hard it left teeth marks (just like your baby has) on the side of her head and the entire area was RED, and I mean RED. It took a good while for Alyssa to settle down from crying(it was kinda heart breaking) taking into consideration she was only 7-8 months old! A few yrs later some kid bit Alyssa in Sunday school too! I was mad!

Biting has to be stopped at home!
Amber bit me once when she was younger than 6 and I bit her back.....well, she never bit me again! Jason bit his mom when he was a little tike too, she bit him back, and he never bit her again either.

And oh, either me or Jason bit Amber after she bit Alyssa.....she NEVER bit her again! Pain is a great teacher lol

Now I have to break up physical fights between the girls a lot! Miss Amber kicked Alyssa in the stomach a couple of weeks ago and lets just say, I left Amber just short of death LOL.

Anyway, I can't wait to hear more on Monday when you find something out!
