Equal Opportunity
I may not care for Obama, but at least I want to make sure we don't like him for reasons that are true.
Recently, I received a message claiming,
So, in the interest of fairness, I replied to EVERYONE that was on the forward list and made sure they knew it wasn't true too. It won't look too good if all of us who don't want Obama to be elected argue with stuff like this. We have to be smart about our arguments.
Now, this is me, hopefully, stepping off of my poiitical soapbox.
Recently, I received a message claiming,
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides," Obama said. "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."Immediately, I thought... this does NOT sound right. So I googled it. And I found this link on the Urban Legends site that explains what the statement really is - political satire. Funny. But not true at all.

Good for you! I agree, let's base our opinions on fact. :-)
