New Glasses

Image
Recently, I got a back-up pair of glasses. You see, I've been misplacing my glasses like a geriatric patient these days and I needed to have an extra set for the in-the-car/in-the-house deal and the upstairs-downstairs situation. I'd have several pairs if I could afford it, but for now two pairs of prescription glasses is enough. Especially since I didn't have to pay for the second pair, just the frames. I tried to find a picture of me wearing my new glasses, but since I'm the one behind the camera most of the time one does not exist. It doesn't really matter, we all know you are just here to see pictures of my daughters anyway. My friends at Mom Central invited me to try a new type of lenses, made by Airwear. They are 43% lighter and 10 times more impact resistant than standard plastic lenses, plus they offer complete UV protection and are virtually unbreakable. Virtually unbreakable? Hello new glasses, welcome to my world of want-to-be-grown up toddlers and curiou

My mom stayed with us for a couple of days and I took full advantage of her time here! The first day, we all decorated eggs together with this cool egg spinner. It was perfect for Charlotte because it went FAST. And I didn't have to worry about her spilling dye cups. Sitting around watching eggs change color is not her speed at all. Mary wanted to get in on the decorating too, so I gave her a mohawk style! What do you think Daddy? Here is the end result. And yes, this egg did get dropped.

Catching Up Part 2 - Charlotte's Dance Class

Image
In February, Charlotte started taking a pre-dance class at Florida Dance Theater. She LOVES it. I almost don't need to say that. Charlotte has been dancing in our living room for a while and it is nice to see her start to expand her technique beyond just shaking her body. Now, she can plie', twirl with her arms up, and lift her leg in an almost graceful way. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... and maybe some day, I'll even post the video. But more likely, you'll end up seeing the recital video first. Yep. She gets to be in a mini recital later this year that the whole family is excited about! Charlotte is by far he youngest girl in her class and she started 5 months later. But Ms. Terrie reports that she keeps up with this just fine, even if she gets a little lost in space occasionally. Dancing with her friend Lydia who is standing Excited that mommy came into class to observe Sitting still (a rare moment) and waiting for instructions. But you ca

Catching Up Part 1 - Bike Week

Image
We waited until the second weekend to go and it. was. crowded. That was probably because no one went the first weekend due to horrible FL weather. The day we went was chilly but beautiful. The first thing we did was head to the kid's area so Charlotte could blow off some steam after 2+ hours in the car. She enjoyed the bounce house immensely and made friends with some of the worker's kids. While Charlotte bounced, Mary got her first tattoo. Calm down... it was just airbrushed. And like last year, Charlotte also got her Bike Week Tattoo. That's it. Yep. There are no pictures of motorcycles. Not sure how that happened, but oh well. This is Family Musings, not Motorcycle Musings. :)
