To Twitter or Not to Twitter

That is the question of the week.

Is it time for me to take the plunge and share all sorts of fun details about my day with the rest of the world?

Do other people care that I just finished drinking 100 ounces of water today? Or that I just changed yet another dirty diaper? What about the new vlog I posted at NewBaby?

According to my stats, there are ~46 people who are subscribe to this blog. That means that at least 46 people will either read this post in e-mail or in their feed reader. (Or just delete it without a second thought.)

Would those of you among the 46, and any others that might be lurking here, please give me your opinion on Twitter? What about those of you visiting from Blog Coach today? In addition to providing some constructive feedback, would you share your thoughts about Twitter in the comments?

  1. I've just gotten started with Twitter after months of skepticism. It's an interesting community. I wouldn't expect that all (or even most) of your blog readers are Twitter users, but try it out. You might build a nice little group of Twitter followers and find some new blog readers along the way.

  3. I am loving Twitter. My husband and I both use it, and I like seeing his updates throughout the day. My cousin uses it. I have friends who tweet. I also "follow" some bloggers who tweet about new sites to visit, new coupons and savings, etc. It's a real-time updater, and if you have a desktop widget you can be alerted of new tweets as they are posted. I also have a widget on my personal blog. Sometimes I don't get to blog everyday, but I can tweet a few times a day, either from my phone or computer, and walla! my friends and family can see what I'm up to.

I think it's a fun way to social network! You can replay to someone's tweets and have lots of fun!

  7. I am just getting started with Twitter, but am not following very many people. I like what I see for the most part, but I am probably not getting the full "value" of it.

  8. Twitter is good. It takes up only the time that you give it. I do get traffic from twitter to my blog by posting the URL of my most recent post. It is also pretty fun if you are bored.

  9. Twitter can be a good networking tool. I mainly follow other bloggers and twitter is one of my top 10 referrals when I look at my statistics. You can link to recent posts, as well as get feedback about changes you've made to your template or errors you're getting, etc. I have also gotten a guest post and been included in some link roundups solely through being on twitter. I am only on in the mornings and/or at night usually, maybe for an hour or two a day, but it usually runs in the background - just so you know how much time it takes up for me personally. (I'm here from blogcoach, btw)

  10. Hi, I am visiting from Blog Coach today. I have just started on Twitter and I love it. It is so much fun, highly addictive and it is a great way to network. I wish I had started it sooner. I also don't think it takes that much effort as you can have ongoing conversations with multiple people and Twitter has you keep comments to 140 characters or less. So much fun! :)

  11. I use Twitter to network with other bloggers and companies. I am also using it as a personal too. I can "tweet" when I get up. I tweet my blog postings via TwitterFeed. I can ask for help or advice in a flash. Sometimes you get help. Sometimes you don't.

In less than a month, I have met some amazing bloggers. I am growing my audience and I am loving this really wonderful tool.

  13. It seems that people who twitter love it.

But I am so overwhelmed with everything that just trying to keep up with daily blog posts is hectic enough. I can't imagine keeping up with hour-by-hour updates on everone's life.

    That's me . . .
