Review: Jet-Dry

Want to know one of the awesome things about finding a great product at an amazing price?

It's that you can stock up on it and not have to buy it for 2 or 3 years.

Want to know one of the worst things about having that stock pile for so long?

It's that you don't pay attention to the fact that all of the companies who make said product had reformulated it and none of the new products work as well as what you had.

And that folks, is what happened to me last spring. I used up my 3+ year old stock pile of dishwasher detergent and was left with nothing that actually got my dishes clean.

Talk about frustrating... I was washing my dishes before I put them in my dishwasher and they still weren't coming clean. So, once I figured out it wasn't my machine and that it had something to do with the phosphorous being removed from all of the detergents, I set out on a quest. A quest to find something that would clean my dishes the first time, without a lot of pre-washing.

I tried every single known combination of home made cleaners. Lemon juice, Kool Aid, citric acid, washing soda, vinegar, they all went into my dishwasher at some point and yet, despite claims by pinners and bloggers alike, none of them got the job done.

Then, I moved onto trying more store bought remedies. Natural ones, chemical ones... I wasn't going to be satisfied until my dishwasher was allowed to do its job once again. Eventually, one of my friends recommended Finish Jet-Dry Power Ball and I've become such a loyal fan that I've been know to pay full price (gasp!) if we run out before it goes on sale again. Yeah baby, it's that good!

Until a few weeks ago, I had never added the Finish Jet-Dry product that is meant to complement the cleaner. It's called Finish Jet-Dry Rinse Agent and it is supposed to help rinse away "leftover detergent residues" so that your dishes come out shinier.

I received a sample of Mom Central and put it in the week before Christmas, when I knew there would be lots of extra dishes to wash. After 2 weeks of use, I can definitely say I noticed a difference. Did it make me shout it out to the neighborhood? No, but my plates were cleaner and when I did wash the few actual glass glasses we used on Christmas Eve, they didn't have any spots on them like usual. Most of our dishes are plastic, so I don't expect a lot of sparkling when I empty the dishwasher anyway.

If you are skeptical like me and want to learn more, you can visit the Finish Jet-Dry website for yourself.

And for reading this far, I have a flash giveaway to the first person who correctly comments with the name of the Finish Jet-Dry product I want to try next. This one I am really excited about.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Finish and received a Finish Jet-Dry product sample to facilitate my review, a sample to giveaway, and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
