30 Days Without Shampoo - Week 4

My 30 days ended last weekend and I have no plans to discontinue my baking soda/apple cider vinegar hair care program. I made it the entire month without using traditional shampoo. And you know what, it wasn't any harder to use BS and ACV than it was to use the drugstore stuff. Plus, I like my hair a lot better!

(Ha! I love this cartoon on the left I found at Babs blog. It cracks me up!)

I didn't think to take a before picture, but just imagine it a lot frizzier and less manageable than the following picture. I assure you anyone who knows me in real life can vouch for that!

So, this is no longer experiment. It is now going to be my way of life. Yes, I will still have to fight the almost 100% humidity of  Florida, but that is okay... I now have better tools.

Let me know what you think? Anyone other than Luke or Babs going to follow my lead?

  1. Congratulations on making it a month! Whenever I've gone a day w/o washing I think of the experiment. I'd really like to know how many folks that try it and like it - have naturally curly/thick hair as opposed to thin straight hair. I just can't see it working for me...

  2. @Edi - so you have thin,m straight hair? I'll see if I can find any examples of that type having success with this formula.

  3. I can't do this. Something about the smell of ACV makes me ill. But, I did switch to EverPure shampoo and have seen a big difference from the "traditional" shampoos.

Congrats on making it a month. Your hair looks fab!

  4. I don't use Apple Cider Vinegar because I hate the smell of vinegar myself. Instead, we use lemon juice.

  6. I did this same thing months ago and I love it. I dont use ACV I just use white vinegar with a cinnamon stick thrown in an ol ketchup bottle and squeeze that in my hair...yes my shower looks crazy if you were to peek in there and see a ketchup bottle but meh..it works and my hair is fabulous!!
