Home is Calling
This giveaway is now closed.
I've written before about the importance of eating as a family. I even gave some stuff away with my post about Pilsbury Savorings. Now, Pilsbury has given me another great prize pack and I get to share with you for day 4 of Holiday Handouts. And I get to have 3 winners again today! Yeah!
I have 3 Pillsbury Home is Calling™ gift baskets to give away to 3 readers. The basket includes a coupon for Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls, a magnetic coupon holder, a house-shaped mouse pad, pot holders, a cookie sheet, a bread basket and a lovable Pillsbury Doughboy figurine. Isn't that fun! And with Christmas baking coming up, who couldn't use an extra cookie sheet?
And even better, Pilsbury is also making donations to local food banks this holiday season. They want our help too. All you have to do to help them is visit the Home is Calling website and send their commercial to some friends.
Now to the giveaway. I will randomly draw 3 winners next Monday. There are three ways to enter and you can do any of them you like, for up to three entries:
- Leave a comment sharing your favorite part of family meals. (Comments that don't address family meals will be deleted.)
- Subscribe to my RSS feed, and leave a 2nd comment telling me you did so, or already are subscribed, and
- Link to my giveaway on your own blog, leaving another comment with the permalink to you post.

My favorite part about family meals is the conversation. My family at the moment just consists of my husband and myself, but dinner together at the table is a great time to catch up on the day and share. I also love the look on my husbands face when I make something new for dinner. Oh how he loves to have something new!
ReplyDeleteI like that i can talk to the kids about their day.

My favorite part about family meals?
ReplyDeleteI guess the fact that we are able to be together for most of our meals. I know some families are so busy that they rarely get a chance to sit down together. I like the routine - and like knowing that I'm doing something profitable for my family.
Sounds wonderful. My favorite part about family meals is sharing about each other's day and seeing the enjoyment the meals give my family.
ReplyDeleteI like the part when they compliment my cooking!

My favorite part about family meals is enjoying them with our soon-to-be 2 year old son! There is never a dull moment with a toddler at the table! :o)

My favorite part of a family meal (which we have every night) is finding out what is going on in each others lives and reconnecting with each other. We find out how school is going, what exciting (or not so exciting) thing happened, my husband shares the events of his day and I tell my family what I did during the day. In this busy world we live in it's great to have that hour of time to just be together and talk before everyone goes off into different directions again.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for a wonderful giveaway.

My favorite part of our family meals are the sweet prayers our 4 year old son says. I also secretly like when out 2 year old son stuffs his mouth full of food and then tries to say "more please"! We try to teach him not to talk with his mouth full, of course, but it is quite adorable anyway :)
ReplyDeleteI also read an idea somewhere to have a night when the "dessert" is saying something sweet about everyone else at the table. Our 2 year old doesn't participate yet but our 4 year old likes to say something nice that Mommy, Daddy and brother did over the last week and we like saying and hearing things too!

My favorite part about family meals is we finally have the chance to sit down together without the TV on and really listen to what each other has to say. It brings us so much closer.

ReplyDeletewow sounds good and well i just found you and i put you on my feed listand what do i like abt eating with my family every thing i even in joy makeing dinner for them as well
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of family meal time is talking about what everyone did that day. As a child growing up, one of the rules in our house was NO TALKING at the dinner table. So to now have that freedom to connect with my husband and kids is fulfilling.
ReplyDeleteI love catching up with what everyone did that day!

The socializing... and we play the "what did you learn today" game!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of family meals is hearing what went on with everyone that day. When I get together with our extended family, I love hearing what has been going on with everyone.
ReplyDeleteDuring family meals is the only time i get to hear about everyones day.
ReplyDeletemy favorite thing about family meals is preparing them with my 2 year old son. he likes to put on my pampered chef apron and climb up on the chair next to me and help me make everything, his favorite is to crack eggs, then of course he has to help stir anything and then when we all sit down to eat he will say mmm mm that good mummy!
ReplyDeleteI love tasting the wonderful foods my husband makes, and watching how excited in cooking my son is becoming :)
ReplyDeleteI love getting together with my extended family for the holidays and our big Thanksgiving meal. It is the one time of year when we all get together, even the ones who live far away. I really enjoy getting that time to catch up (and there's always the wonderful times my husband and I escape after pawning our kids off on our free babysitters!).

Once my kids were old enough to be involved in sports & other activities I realized the importance of sitting down together for a meal. It only takes having a couple "picnic" meals in the car at the ball field with your hubby & other children on the cell phone at the other ball field to drive that point home.
ReplyDeleteI really like the food preparation part of the meal. It's a great time to teach kids how to cook and also to do 'small talk'. My kids always tended to open up a bit more while cooking in the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
I love sitting together and talking about our day. The table around a meal of good food is the perfect setting for this. Of course, a yummy, homecooked meal is so much better than McDs any day!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is talking about the day. Even though my kids are still young it's fun to hear their take on things. :)

ReplyDeleteJust being able to sit together and enjoy a home cooked meal and talk. My absolute favorite time of the day! Right now it's just my husband and myself since the older kids are grown and daughter lives with bio-mom. But, with our schedules we still make time to do this at least once a day just to catch up.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of family meals is talking about what happened during our day. It's a great way to reconnect with everyone.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is after everyone has dug in and you talk about the day
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the coming together as a family-food is important but the laughter and conversation is the best
ReplyDeletetiramisu392 (at) yahoo.com
Well....I have to say DESSERT is usually my favorite part!
ReplyDeletewhat i like about family meals together, especially if i cooked the meal, is seeing hubby's delight with the food. he seems to really like my cooking all the time, even if i think it's bad like i put too much salt or pepper. or he just able to keep his disgust, and he is always appreciative.
ReplyDeletei don't cook as much anymore since hubby started job at a military academy. i just get food from the cafeteria which i share with my son, while hubby eats with his students. however i schedule eating with them at the cafeteria to be with hubby. there is always that feeling of togetherness when sharing a meal.
My Favorite Part about family meals is talking about our day and just being together.

The best part about family meals in my house is having a chance to share stories with my husband about our busy day. Our son is still nursing, so when I get home from work it's time to focus on him before sending him off to sleep. Without dinner time, I don't know when my hubby and I would have a chance to focus on each other and pause to just enjoy one another's company!
ReplyDeletedinner time is the only time the entire family can sit together and talk about their day or anything new that is happening in our lives.

Family meals are very rare at my house. But when they do occur I like being able to talk without my husband staring at the computer or the TV.

ReplyDelete:) My favorite part of family meals is that it gives us one focus, each other! We pray together, laugh, catch up on our day and our lives in general, and just enjoy each others company!
ReplyDeleteThen at BIG family meals, we get to catch up with family/friends that we only get to see a few times a year! (and with those get togethers there are always plenty of opportunities to take photos...*smile* that is always a favorite thing for me!)
Thank you so much for the chance to win!
