Less Than a Month Left
Come Monday I will be in my 37th week of pregnancy which means there are 3-4 weeks left until we all get to meet Baby Sabin in person and find out if "it" is a he or a she. Here is what BabyCenter.com says about the 37th week:
Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away.Your baby weighs a little over 6 pounds and measures between 19 and 20 inches, head to heel. Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.
I am sure lots of you out there are thinking about the peach fuzz look... that is sort of what we are expecting given the condition of Baby Sabin's Daddy's current hair-do. :-) For those of you who aren't sure what that is, check out our Dome website for a great picture of his "hair-do."
I am still feeling well and haven't been overwhelmed with uncomfortableness. I am very grateful for this as it is about 100 degrees outside on a daily basis now, with near 100% humidity. Ahh.... gotta love FL!
On other news, my car is ready to retire. It let me know this in no uncertain terms when it starting smoking yesterday as I turned onto my street coming back from my relaxing week. The fine crack in my radiator is no longer fine and can only be repaired by replacing the entire radiator. We aren't sure yet if there is any engine damage, but have gone ahead and started looking for my Altima's replacement. The 2 cars in the lead as of right now are the Nissan Versa and the Ford Focus. I never thought I would seriously consider buying a Ford, but the Focus is the only Ford model that Consumer Reports recommends. Since it is a very inexpensive car, the Focus has made it on my list. I really like the Versa though, and in no small part because it is a Nissan.
We did test drive a Toyota Yaris and I knew it wasn't the right car by the time I pulled out of the dealer's parking lot. The proportions are all off. In order to have comfortable reach to the pedals with my legs, my arms had to be almost straight out. That is not conducive to long trips. Even Bruce had this issue, so I know it isn't just me being out of alignment or proportion. Right now, we are waiting to see which Ford dealership comes back with the best price for the Focus. If anyone has an opinion about either the Focus or the Versa, feel free to let us know. We plan to make a decision within the next few days.
Oh, one more thing you can pray about... Bruce is taking the Biology 6-12 test this morning! It is necessary for him to pass in order for him to keep his current IB Biology teaching position. He has done such a good job studying, far better than I could have done. I am praying that God will honor his time commitment and this new teaching position choice. We won't know the answer until at least August 21, the week school starts.
See what happens when I wait 6 days to post... you have a novella to read! I hope you don't mind. I won't promise to be better though. My life is going to get a lot busier real soon. Thanks for making it this far to the end of my rambling. ;-)
