I Got Purple Highlights
Purple highlights were something I had been considering for a while. And finally, I did it. They make me happy every time I see them. Even though they seem super obvious in these photos, I don't think they are. It was just really bright outside when I took the pictures.
To get these highlights done so they would be a bit subtle, I had the rest of my hair dyed back closer to my natural color. It looks darker than most people are used to because I had all over blond highlights before. To get such an intense purple (the color you see is after 5 washes), Elysia had to first stripped the color out.
I am very happy with these highlights and definitely will be brave enough to experiment with color some more. Who knows, maybe I'll get a tattoo or some piercings next! Who says 32 is too old to have fun?!

It's never too late to try something new, especially if you think it will make you happy. I designed a tattoo when I was sixteen and finally made the decision to get it on my 29th birthday, it holds personal significance for me and it makes me happy! So I will end by saying-Good for you Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteI think the purple looks great! And no, 32 isn't too old for this kind of fun... even when you hit the ripe old age of forty (*ahem* like some of us already are) it still won't be too old!
ReplyDeletehaha Shoot for me, 32 will be when I actually START having fun. My husband and I had our first three children before I even turned 20 (I was 17, 18, and 19) and now have FIVE! When I am 32, our oldest will be 15 and our youngest will be 7 and I will actually be able to start LIVING again! None of that has anything to do with having purple hair, but hey I think the 30's are a PERFECT time for a mom to either start or start BACK enjoying life, whatever the case may be! I'm getting mine done a deeper brown also; I think it's called chestnut?? Not positive though; and getting VERY subtle burgundy highlights that sort of blend in. Thanks for sharing your pics!! I think yours looks awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteThey look great! 32 is NOT old girl! When I was 35 I bought a bright blue car and went crazy with the color. Did my nails, eyeshadow and lipstick in the color. Wanted to do the blue streaks in my hair but it would not have gone over well with my employer. Instead I had blue strands that clipped in. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great, I however am not as adventurous - been blonde now for around 10 years aged 30 now! everytime I go to the hairdressers I always get the same old highlights and cut! although this weekend I did venture a little out of my comfort zone and did a home dye kit, blonde all over now and quite happy with it, was a bit worried about doing it myself :-S
ReplyDeletePurple highlights look so fun for a change. I think I may want to try it out too. Thanks for giving me an idea.

I think it's not too bad to try out something different once in your life as long as it makes you happy. Go girl! You deserve it.
