Bloggy Giveaway
When Shannon at Rocks In My Dryer agreed to host another Bloggy Giveaway, I wonder if she realized she would have more than 500 submissions!!! (I think I am #500 on Mr. Linky if links don't get deleted!!!) There is a lot of stuff being given away and I am so glad I get to be a part of it! I can't even guess how much time I've spent today browsing blogland and making new friends.
I decided to get in on the fun and have put together my own little giveaway. Since the idea is to give something away that relates to who you are in blog land, I decided to do something about baby girls and breastfeeding. Here is what you might win (all items are new, unopened, and with tags):
1 pack of Playtex Nursing Pads
1 "Worth the Wait" message onesie (3-6 months)
1 On the Go Bottle Warmer
1 Carters Snuggle Blanket
1 Hallmark Baby's First Christmas Ornament
1 Gumdrop newborn pacifier
Plus any other random things I might find!
(Most of these were things I have duplicates of from my own baby showers last summer.)
Just leave a message in the comments with your favorite baby story, either yours or someone elses. I'll choose a winner using a random number generator when the Bloggy Carnival ends on Friday, Feb 1st. Sorry, open to US residents only.
Good luck!
EDIT: Here are some of my favorite giveaways (check back for additions):
A Beautiful Apron from Lovin' Our Large Family
Mustard Seeds Game from Home But Not Alone
Burt's Bees Baby Pack from Jenn's Den
$5 CVS Card from A Call to higher Places
Adorable Pantaloons by Handmade by Cole
Two Home Organization Books from Heart at Home
EDIT: As of Saturday, February 2, at 3:10 pm, this giveaway is now closed. Go here to see who won.

ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!

My favorite baby story is when my youngest niece was explaining to her uncle that her mommy was having a baby, and the cat was having kittens, and asked him what he was having. It was hilarious! Please enter me in your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to win this for fourth due in April. It's a little girl!! With four I have lots of baby stories lol but it was adorable when I was explaining to my two year old that mommy's tummy was getting bigger because there was a baby in there. So then naturally she wanted to know if that was what was making daddy's tummy bigger too LOL! I don't think dh found it near as funny though hee, hee.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is making me a first tim grandma in Sept and I'm positive she is having a girl. This prize would come in so handy.
ReplyDeletePlease count me in and be sure to check out my giveaway.
My favorite baby story is when my nephew wouldn't go to anyone but me at one point. We were at Thanksgiving and everyone kept trying to hold him but he would cry. When I got him he was fine. That made me feel so special. (jafarhie[at]yahoo[dot]com)
ReplyDeleteThis is great.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite baby story is when my husband told me of explosive diaper on one of our twins. He was horrified!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite baby story is my own, the day my daughter was born was the best day of my life. adavieau@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteps, she will only take the gumdrop paficiers!
My fave is my own too.
ReplyDeleteI have 7 living children with a little one in heaven as well. Each birth story was different... two born premature at 4 weeks early and one at 6 weeks early.
Count me in please.
Thanks for the giveaway!

My favorite baby story is about my friend. She invited me to be present during the birth of her son. It was the most amazing thing to see and I am so glad that she wanted me to be there.

sounds great, please enter me! thanks
ReplyDeleteToo many baby stories to share. But this is a great giveaway. And the gumdrop pacifier is the only one that my daughter will take!
ReplyDeleteIt's not really a story, but it was amazing to feel my niece kicking in my sister (she's due in the beginning of May!)
ReplyDeleteMy toddler is only 15 months, so we don't have a lot of verbal stuff. She melted my heart when she popped her pacifier out of her mouth the other day and walked over and planted a kiss right on my mouth. Oh! I could have stopped that moment and been happy forever. How lovely when you don't have to steal them--free kisses are best!
ReplyDeleteI am currently expecting #5...so I don't even know where to start!
ReplyDeleteMost recently, my 2 year old believes he has a baby in his belly like mommy. He can often be found sticking things under his shirt, pretending it's his baby. Then, when the item falls out of his shirt, he says...oh no! my baby! lol
What fun! I've got baby number 5 due soon - she will be my second girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

One of my favourite baby stories is when I was called over to my friend's home to look after their little boy while she and her husband went to the hospital, and she ended up delivering her baby in the bathroom instead.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be entered in your drawing.

GREAT contest! I really want to win. :)
ReplyDeletemy favorite baby story is of my nephew when he gets frustrated and grunts at you in frustration..and he's only 7 mths old!
This is great. My 8 mo. old already has such a personality. He laughs everytime he burps or passes gas or whenever he hits the cat with a toy. I can tell he is going to be a fun child!
ReplyDeleteThis is great as we are starting up our family :) Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite baby story, wow that's hard. Probably when my son was just starting to eat cheerios. I had been giving him cheerios for a few days when I realized that I had been giving him honey nut cheerios. I freaked out (like only a new mom does) that I was giving him honey, becuase you're not supposed to give babies honey. I was hysterically upset, I made my husband call the dr, they probably thought he was crazy. The nurse assured him that it was ok, and that there probably wasn't even any real honey in them. It's funny now. It wasn't at the time.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! Thank you!

My sister is due in March so I hope I'll have lots of fun baby stories after that (she's having a girl and planning to breastfeed!). I just love snuggling with babies...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite baby story is telling everyone that my daughter is only 16 months old and already recognizes her whole alphabet, just not in order yet.
ReplyDeleteI love all of this....especially the "Worth The Wait" onesie. That is awesome and goes along with my favorite baby story.
ReplyDeleteWe had just found out our second baby was a girl (she is the perfect age to wear the onesie now, by the way...and I am nursing!). We were on the way home from the doctor's office, and very seriously my husband said, "I just realized I am going to have to kill a boy one day, if he touches my daughter." (He is usually very laid back, so it was hilarious. Oh, and he had no sisters....so he is super protective of his little girl). Anyway, I got him a shirt that says, "Guns don't kill people. Dads with pretty daughters do".
Long story to show that my daughter would look so cute in the onesie.....and all of the other stuff is really great, as well!
Side note: My husband is very normal and would obviously never kill a guy.

ReplyDeleteMy cousin has never met her father (and neither have any of her extended family). When we first saw her, we couldn't tell if she was hispanic or native american. My little sister piped up on the way home, "We'll just have to wait and see if she speaks Spanish when she is big enough to talk!"
since i am pg and i nurse this would be great!
ReplyDeletemy fav baby story is when my dd was born. she had too short a cord and my dh was busy taking care of her and kept saying him and he. so i thought i'd had a boy. but several min later i learned i'd had a girl!
With my third baby I was well into transition when my husband and friend decided to go through the drive thru with me SCREAMING in the car. By the time we got to the hospital the only thing holding the kid in was the bag of waters. And as soon as it was popped he was out, and my husband and friend were still standing in the doorway with their chins on their chests. They didn't believe me that he was coming out NOW.
ReplyDeleteThis would be perfect for the little one coming in March (and she's a girl!) My favorite baby story was when my sister was pregnant she developed gestational diabetes so the baby she was carrying was 10 lbs and she was all belly. Her doctor told her to walk as much as possible to help with the sugar levels. She was always craving Mc Donalds
ReplyDeleteOur baby stories are still unwritten, which is why this gift, with a "worth the wait" onesie would be so perfect for us. We have been waiting on our miracle for nearly 3 years now :(
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! Count me in.

I'm pregnant now, and my dd (2 1/2) insists that SHe has a baby in HER tummy, too! :)

Thank you for entering me! Favorite baby story...I asked my 15 month old son..."Isn't mommy cool?" his reply... "...uh-uh"

My favorite baby story is just the fact that my hubby and I are expecting our first in 2 months. Thanks for the chance to win. :)
ReplyDeleteI want the bottle warmer but Id use the rest as a shower present for my good friend who is having a baby girl sooN!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is when my 2 year old copied me and my friend when we were showing our very pregnant bellies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great giveaway! I hope to win!

My dad and my husband had to change my son's diaper when he was just two weeks old. They started working on it together, and then stood back in confusion. My husband had started taking the onesie off by pulling it down over his shoulders, and my dad started by unsnapping the crotch and pulling up. The onesie was stuck right around the baby's middle, and they didn't know what to do! Thanks for the contest!
ReplyDeleteHere is a cute baby story: when my daughter was born my two year old got jealous of how often we were changing her diaper. He would grab his crotch and say "Diaper change" so we would change his diaper, even though he didn't need it.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter saw a picture of daddy when he was a baby and she asked where his beard was. It was so funny. Please enter me . katie_mmartin [at] yahoo (dot) com
ReplyDeleteI guess my favorite baby story is my oldest daughter. I was very sick, she wasn't expected to live & she was born very healthy. 6 weeks early & still over 5lbs!
ReplyDeleteMy story is... last year my niece asked when I was going to have my baby. I wasn't pregnant.
ReplyDeletemy favorite baby story is my friends little boy... going through my purse when he was barely 3 asking what my check book was. when I told him he asked if it was for telling stories and I said, no it was for paying bills. then he said oh, it's for taking care of Brian (my husband)! Out of the mouth of babes!
ReplyDeleteMy 19 mo old has been saying the name of his boy parts all the time. Thank goodness it sounds like 'peanut'
ReplyDeleteI love when DS wanted to wear a ball around in his shirt when I was pregnant with DD. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how great! I am due in September! My favorite story... my niece is so excited about the baby in my belly and she has been stuffing her baby dolls down into her shirt! So cute!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite baby story is mixing up my own twins. My mom would correct me with my own children! Sadly, I still get them mixed up once in a while if they are turned around and not looking directly at me! My other favorite baby story is my son Spencer who has a muscle disease didn't know he had arms to use until he was three months old. He came out of the womb holding his neck up, completely aware and looking around. He wouldn't use his arms to move, he would hold them close to his body and throw his neck and then move his legs around. Even when he was a tiny week old baby he was always turning upside down in his crib at naptime. At three months old, I put a mobile above him on the floor and he realized he could reach for it! He has been using his little arms and hands ever since! My new baby coming in April is a girl and I am looking forward to seeing how he will interact with her!
ReplyDeleteSo, those are a few of my fav. baby stories. Thank you for you having such a generous giveaway! I would LOVE to win!
My email is holladayfam(at)gmail(dot)com.

This is so nice and thoughtful, I would certainly enjoy it. My favorite recent baby story is when we were watching The Duggar family on TLC the other day (they have 17 kids!) and my oldest wanted to know why we are so far behind. I explained it is not a contest, we just have want God wants us to have and that Mommy was done having babies. So, he turned to Dad and wanted to know when he was going to eat some Baby Seeds and grow a baby in his tummy. And he would bring him his favorite food when he went to the hospital to have it taken out, LOL:) Thank You!

My little 2 year old daughter has LOVED her baby doll that she received when she was about 10 months old. It goes everywhere with her. She shares snacks with it, dresses it, wraps it and snuggles it as she sleeps. Once I heard her screaming in her crib during the night. Somehow her baby doll had dropped out of the crib....she was so upset and when I handed back the doll she hugged it and snuggled down to sleep. I think it is so precious that even at so young of an age she tenderly cares for her baby doll.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great gift I would love to win it.
I love all things baby! Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeletei hope i made it on time! that stuff is so awesome. i can't wait to see if i'm the winner! thanks! p.s. i have so many baby stories. my new favorite is that my son calls out "bubby" for his big brother!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great prize! EVERY story about my three year old is my favorite, she is just learning how to "giggle" and it just melts me!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is hearing my baby try to talk back to me.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is when my baby (almost 2) makes little jokes. Like yesterday he was singing a song and bumped his head in the middle, so said "owie." Then he kept on singing the song with the "owie" in there and thinking it was the funniest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!!!!

My favorite "pregnant moment" was when I felt my first child kick/move for the first time. I was drinking a cup of coffee and eating biscotti. He loves coffee to this day!! And he has great taste in food. :0) ( meg.wilson@gmail.com )

I just recently gave birth to my fifth and my favorite story is right before she was born, my 5 year old son was rubbing my stomach trying to feel her and he was rubbing her little foot back and forth and I said "what are you doing honey??" and he said "Trying to make her laugh!!"
ReplyDeleteMy favorite baby story...Well...mine! To make a long story short, I got pregnant while living in Scotland working as a nurse. We came home when I was 3 months pregnant. I ended up on bedrest at 17 weeks but praise that our little boy was born healthy at almost 38 weeks. He is such a blessing.
